Why does my 82 porsche not go into reverse?

I have an 1982 porsche 928, it is an automatic, it has plenty of trans fluid. It has NO problems driving down the road, and I drive it on a daily basis, all drive gears work properly. But when you select Reverse, it does nothing, it doesnt sound like it is engaging at all and only revs the engine if you try to backup. Any ideas?

The clutch the least likley is probably broken reverse band other possibilitys are all teardown procedures except the clutch pack is probably broken reverse servo it were the least likley is burnt up but you would more than likely have lost another gear with it were the problem is probably.
